We are extremely proud to announce that the 'Bringing The Barracks to Life' app won the Award for Innovation in the 2015 East Midlands Heritage Awards. Up against some stiff competition, the judging panel said of the app "seamless, excellent and very well delivered" and "...technology puts the collections stories at the forefront".
Hosted in Nottingham, the award was presented by children, contractors, volunteers and museum staff where the judges announced our augmented reality project won the award for a slick, content-heavy app that connects well with visitors and meets the different needs of users.
Back in September 2013 we fought off 25 competitors to secure the account to ‘Bring the Barracks to Life’, and just over 18 months later we are pleased that the app is impressing museum visitors as well as judging panels.
We recognised the opportunity to enhance the agricultural and wartime collections and truly transform the way visitors experience the museum. From cutting-edge 3D scanning and Hollywood green screen techniques, to script writing, game creation, and lots more, our team of experts delivered a solution that’s been very well received and continues to help drive footfall to the museum.
